INFORMATION
I offer competitively priced, hand guided quilting on an A-1 Elite quilting machine in a smoke free studio. I can help choose the quilting that best compliments the quilt top by drawing on my knowledge of the quilting process.
I use all over patterns (pantographs) and custom quilting (freehand designs) will be offered as well.
APPOINTMENTS
Quilting services are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please call the number above. If I am unavailable, leave a message and I'll get back to you to schedule an appointment.
QUILTING TERMS
Edge to Edge - single, hand guided, pantograph design quilted over the entire top
Free Hand All Over - free-form quilting over entire top
Meandering - free-hand quilting in a fairly uniform pattern over the entire top
Custom - is a combination of pantograph designs, block insets for templates, and a variety of free-hand quilting, including outlining, grids, echo quilting, stitch-in-the-ditch, etc.
Please Note:
Although I am both happy & qualified to give you suggestions & guidance in choosing the quilting designs and thread colors for your quilt, in the end, the choices you make are yours. It is my job to execute those choices to the best of my professional ability. I am a quilter, but unfortunately, not a mind reader, so if you leave the choices up to me, please understand that you have made that choice.
My responsibility begins and ends with the quality of my workmanship.
Prepare Your Quilt:
Do not baste your quilt, with pins or any other method.
Identify the head or top of your quilt top and head or top of the backing if applicable, with a piece of paper marked with pencil and taped or pinned to fabric.
Square your quilt top.
Press your quilt well. Seams open or to one side. You will be charged extra if your top or back needs pressing.
Trim all loose threads on your quilt, they can show under light fabric. They also can cause snags and uneven stitching.
Stay stitch (1/4") around the edge of your top, especially if it is pieced to the edge.
Quilt top should be free of embellishments such as buttons, charms, pins, sequins, couching, etc.
Borders that do not lay flat may cause tucks, pleats or fullness.
Backing Batting:
You may supply your own batting (allow an extra 4-6 inches beyond all sides of the quilt top) or purchase batting from me.
Extra charges may be added for quilt preparation that must be completed by Kool Kwilts prior to quilting.

Custom quilting varies greatly depending on type of freehand work, feathers, cross-hatching, motifs, echoing, stitch-in-the-ditch, meandering, border fills, etc.
Binding service is also provided to complete your quilt, if desired.
All work is done on a first come, first serve basis.
